Everything you need to know about shopping with Sybaritic
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Do you have stock of item X?
A: No, Sybaritic does not keep any stock on hand, apart from a few items which are listed as in stock with us. All items generally take one day to reach us from confirmation of your payment. We try to keep stock situations updated on our site as we get this information from our suppliers - items you add in your cart which are GREEN are in stock with suppliers, RED items are not. Items in black we aren't sure about. If you need confirmation of stock availability before you order, you must email us so we can check and let you know - phoning us for this information will not help as we first need to confirm with the supplier for you. Alternatively, just place your order on the website - we always check availability before asking you to pay, so if there is any problem on stock, we will try to recommend another option for you before accepting payment.

Q: When will stock be available again for item X which is currently out of stock?
A: Unfortunately despite numerous requests for accuracy, the information we receive about this is very unreliable from our suppliers, possibly due to delays in shipping or customs from their side. The best way to find out from us is to add the item into your cart or wishlist, and as soon as we receive notification that stock is available again, we will e-mail you. This also helps us to track how many people are interested in a particular item which we can pass on to our suppliers.

Q: I need a customised computer and I am not up to date with technology. How do I know what goes together?
A: Please contact us with your requirements - what you need the computer for, any specific things you definitely need (certain size screen for example) and your budget - we will assist to create a quotation for you based on your needs and can assemble the system for you!

Q: How much is delivery?
A: Currently, courier delivery to your door is from R51 in Gauteng, and from R85 to all other areas in South Africa. We calculate the rate based on the weight and volume of what you are ordering, however these rates are valid up to about 5kg and increase thereafter. Delivery charges do fluctuate monthly based on fuel pricing.

Q: Can you send a package via post?
A: Regrettably, we have made the difficult decision to stop using the South African Postal System. Their website tracking is unreliable if it is ever online, speed services fuel levies are not published, getting updates via phone are a nightmare, insurance claims are never resolved, and frequently they can't accept our bank cards for payment which makes our accounting especially difficult. Additionally, the frustration of our customers queueing sometimes for hours to collect their packages, just as we have to when we post them, has been the deciding factor for us to discontinue their services. Sending packages via courier instead is quicker, cheaper, and more reliable in all regards.

Q: I'm not always available at a physical address, so post was preferable for me!
A: You are welcome to send your package to your nearest Postnet, 3@1, or similar service centre, to sign and keep the package for you if you arrange this with them. You are also welcome to use your own courier or the Speed Services Door to Counter service to receive your package. Additionally, we can request the courier to call you, although they do usually work on radio systems and this may not be possible. We will let you know approximately when you can expect the delivery on your order, or hold it back to have it delivered at a later time if that is preferable.

Q: Are your deliveries insured and guaranteed?
A: All packages we send are fully insured against theft and any damage. In the unlikely event of this occuring, Sybaritic will immediately dispatch a replacement; we will not keep you waiting for any insurance claim procedures! Courier delays can occur due to bad weather, availability of flights, very remote areas, and other logistics out of both their and Sybaritic's control. Again, these are all very unlikely events, as we have partnered with an extremely reliable courier that we are proud to use. There are cheaper courier options out there, but experience has shown that any compromise on delivery is not an option as it is a direct reflection on us at the end of the day.

Q: Can I get a discount for a large order or bulk order?
A: Regrettably not, our pricing structure is already discounted as far as possible. Sybaritic has invested in a significant infrastructure to keep our service levels up; we have six full time staff members, four incoming telephone lines, and full generator backup facilities. We won't compromise on our service infrastructure investments for price.

LOCATION, PRICING, AND TAXATION
Sybaritic only dispatches orders within South Africa. Sybaritic is the Trading Name for Sybaritic Trading cc, CK2002/103555/23. Sybaritic Trading cc is registered for VAT. Our VAT Registration number is 4580217422. All prices displayed are shown inclusive of VAT. You can print your invoice from our website which contains our VAT number, as well as your VAT number if you have specified one in your account details, after your order is complete. If you need a pro-forma invoice, simply request one from us via reply email once you have placed your order on our website and received your order confirmation.

Prices are subject to change without prior notice as and when required, and are usually linked to changes in the Rand Dollar exchange rate, or stock levels between multiple suppliers. If there are any price decreases, you will be notified via email of those decreases for any items you have in your shopping cart or wishlist while you were last logged in.

At Sybaritic, our primary focus is on online sales, and as such, we don't experience the conventional overhead costs that other real-world shops do. This means that our prices are always kept as low as possible, giving you an added benefit of shopping online with Sybaritic.

To further keep our costs down and to provide you with better value, we don't keep products in stock at our place of business. When you place an order, we place an order with our suppliers for those products. Occasionally it will happen that our supplier is out of stock of a particular item - in this case, we will do our best to locate the item from alternate suppliers, or inform you of the expected delivery time if this information is available to us. You can make the decision based on that information to either cancel your order, wait for the stock to arrive, or replace with an alternative item. In extreme cases, the pricing could be different to those displayed on the site. When we place your order and notice that the price has changed, we will let you know what the new price is. While this does not always happen, please be aware that the possibility does exist due to the volatile nature of component prices and due to the extensive range of products we offer.

WEBSITE INFORMATION
All product information provided on this website is done so in good faith using information obtained from suppliers and manufacturers. We do our best to ensure that this information is as accurate as possible, but cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. If you need specific information or a specific model of a product, please bring this to our attention so that we can attempt to assist your expectations.

PAYMENT
We accept EFT or direct deposits into our Nedbank account, and by using the PayFast gateway we can instantly authorise electronic payments from FNB, Standard Bank, ABSA, and Nedbank. Cash payments (unless directly deposited) cannot be accepted. Cheques are accepted but we can only dispatch your order once clearance is effected - this may take up to two weeks. If you have selected to pay via EFT / Bank Transfer to our Nedbank account, you will be given the details of our account information when your order has been confirmed to ensure stock is available before you pay. Payment for any order must be made upfront before we will place orders with our suppliers.

We also accept credit card payments and budget transactions! Credit Card Transactions are acquired by MyGate Communications (Pty) Ltd, a registered systems operator and payment gateway in South Africa. Card Holders may go to www.mygate.co.za to view the MyGates security policy.

DELIVERY
To further aid costs being as low as possible for you, we currently pass the cost of delivery onto you. Deliveries do not include weekends, public holidays, or after-hours options.

Since delivery costs can often prohibit you from purchasing online due to the added costs, we welcome your opinion and feedback in this regard. We prefer to charge for the services you really use rather than substitute higher costs into all pricing to subsidise delivery charges - unfair for those who use their own courier services or collect directly from our offices!

WARRANTY AND RETURNS
All of the product's supplied through Sybaritic use well-established supplier chains in South Africa. All warranties are supplied by the manufacturer of the product through the supplier, and not by Sybaritic. Please check your warranty information from the relevant manufacturer, but our supplier has the ultimate decision on any warranties and we uphold those decisions. Please note that all media and consumables usually do not carry warranties and cannot be returned unless a known problem has been reported to our supplier with similar items in their batches and they are prepared to replace them.

If your product is defective at all, and the defect is within the specifications of the manufacturer's and suppliers warranty, please inform us about it. We will organise to collect the defective item from you with our courier (at no cost to you). We will then consult with the supplier on your behalf with respect to the fault, and deliver what the supplier provides us with back to you. In most cases, suppliers replace defective items immediately - if no stocks are available, we may credit you or suggest a replacement, depending on what the supplier is able to do or provide. Should the supplier detect no fault (particularly in the cases of intermittent or problems that can't be reproduced on testing), or there is physical damage which may void the warranty, no replacements can be made and we will charge you our standard delivery fee to return the item to you. Items replaced under warranty will be delivered back to you free of charge!

The inherent nature of electrical and mechanical components means that we understand that faults do occur that remain undetected until first used. We want your experience with us to be as positive as possible, and will strive to do what we can in these circumstances.

If you have purchased a product that is incompatible with your existing system or is functional, but does not meet your requirements, then we will only accept the product back for a credit (refunds are not given) if it is returned in re-saleable condition in the original packaging within 14 days of the purchase date. You will be liable for the delivery costs to return the item to us, and a handling fee which will be deducted from your credit. This is a 15% charge on the value of the item. An additional 15% charge will apply on goods returned without original or damaged packaging. We cannot accept returns after 14 days from the date of purchase.

We do everything that we can to make sure you have all the information you need when purchasing a product from us. If you are unsure about compatibility, PLEASE ASK! We don't check all the orders we receive, but if we do notice a discrepancy, we will check with you before processing the order - obviously we cannot guarantee any compatibility if we are not building the system for you.

If you would like us to assemble any of the components you purchase, we can do so for a reasonable charge of R200. This gives you the added benefit of knowing that all components will be tested before being dispatched. Simply add the Machine Building Service from the Services section of our website to your cart with your components.
