LOCATION, PRICING, AND TAXATION
Sybaritic only dispatches orders within South Africa. Sybaritic is the Trading Name for Sybaritic Trading cc, CK2002/103555/23. Sybaritic Trading cc is registered for VAT. Our VAT Registration number is 4580217422. All prices displayed are shown inclusive of VAT. You will receive an invoice from us via email containing our VAT number, as well as your VAT number if you have specified one in your account details after your order is complete. If you need a pro-forma invoice, simply request one from us via reply email once you have placed your order on our website and received your order confirmation.
Prices are subject to change without prior notice as and when required, and are usually linked to changes in the Rand Dollar exchange rate, or stock levels. If there are any price decreases, you will be notified via email of those decreases for any items you have in your shopping cart or wishlist while you were last logged in.
At Sybaritic, our primary focus is on online sales, and as such, we don't experience the conventional overhead costs that other real-world shops do. This means that our prices are always kept as low as possible, giving you an added benefit of shopping online with Sybaritic.
To further keep our costs down and to provide you with better value, we don't keep products in stock at our place of business. When you place an order, we place an order with our suppliers for those products. Occasionally it will happen that our supplier is out of stock of a particular item - in this case, we will do our best to locate the item from alternate suppliers, or inform you of the expected delivery time if this information is available to us. You can make the decision based on that information to either cancel your order, wait for the stock to arrive, or replace with an alternative item. In extreme cases, the pricing could be different to those displayed on the site. When we place your order and notice that the price has changed, we will let you know what the new price is. While this does not always happen, please be aware that the possibility does exist due to the volatile nature of component prices and due to the extensive range of products we offer.
All items generally take one day to reach us from confirmation of payment. In most cases we try to keep stock situations updated on our site - items you add in your cart which are GREEN are in stock with suppliers, RED items are not. If you need confirmation of stock availability before you order, you must email us so we can check and let you know - phoning us for this information may not help as we first need to confirm with the supplier for you; rather email us for these queries!
WEBSITE INFORMATION
All product information provided on this website is done so in good faith using information obtained from suppliers and manufacturers. We do our best to ensure that this information is as accurate as possible, but cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. If you need specific information or a specific model of a product, please bring this to our attention so that we can attempt to assist your expectations.
PAYMENT
We accept EFT or direct deposits into our Nedbank account, and by using the PayFast gateway we can instantly authorise payments from FNB, Standard Bank, ABSA, and Nedbank. Cash payments (unless directly deposited) cannot be accepted. Cheques are accepted but we can only dispatch your order once clearance is effected - this may take up to two weeks. If you have selected to pay via EFT / Bank Transfer to our Nedbank account, you will be given the details of our account information when your order has been confirmed to ensure stock is available before you pay. Payment for any order must be made upfront before we will place orders with our suppliers.
We also accept credit card payments and budget transactions! Credit Card Transactions are acquired by MyGate Communications (Pty) Ltd, a registered systems operator and payment gateway in South Africa. Card Holders may go to www.mygate.co.za to view the MyGates security policy.
DELIVERY
To further aid costs being as low as possible for you, we currently pass the cost of delivery of the goods onto you. We make use of two industry leading courier companies as our courier partners; both offer good value to you and excellent tracking facilities. Additionally, you may collect your order from our offices in Strydom Park, Randburg (Johannesburg).
All items passed on for delivery should be insured to protect both you and Sybaritic from any loss. While this does slightly increase the cost of delivery; because we cannot be held responsible for the condition of your goods once passed on for delivery, we feel this is necessary to protect your purchase. If you don't want your package to be insured, you do have those options available, but we don't recommend it.
The cost of all types of delivery is automatically calculated when you start to checkout your order, and is based on weight, or a volumetric weight equivalent. If you want your package to be delivered to a Post Office counter, select a To Counter option. All other deliveries are to a door, so please ensure someone will be available to accept your package. The costs of each service will be presented to you when checking out, and the cheapest option will be highlighted for you. Here is a list of delivery costs you could expect:

Deliveries attract an additional handling and packaging fee of 10% and an additional R15 for post protection which are included in the costs shown above.
The cost of delivery is rather complex, and certain options become cheaper at certain weights or different delivery areas. For this reason, we present a wide variety of options for you to make the delivery as cheap as possible. The best way to calculate the delivery charge is to add items into your cart and press checkout - you will be presented with all of the available costs and options without needing to complete your order.
Insurance on your delivery is optional. We highly recommend that you insure your order for your protection, but in some cases you may not want to - we leave the choice up to you. If you chose not to insure a delivery and if anything happened to your goods while in transit, there is NO recourse from Sybaritic! We STRONGLY recommend that in all cases you should choose an insured door delivery option!
Delivery is only calculated to a maximum weight of 100kg. Should your order exceed this weight, the delivery weight will be deemed as 100kg and Sybaritic will cover the balance. Deliveries do not include weekends, or after-hours options. These are available on request only.
We do our best to ensure that the calculation of delivery is as accurate as possible. Please also note that Door delivery costs only apply if you live 50km within a major centre (Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, East London, George, Johannesburg, Kimberley, Pietermaritzburg, Port Elizabeth and Pretoria). If you are in a regional or outlying area, an additional cost applies. Our website also calculates this for you, but can't determine this from your delivery address (yet!). When checking out for a door delivery, please make sure you select the right option for the area you are in (major centre or outlying area). Please be aware that delivery times to outlying areas may be affected. If you have any questions about the delivery options, just let us know.
The delivery times given are estimated, and take effect from the time of dispatch of your parcel, and not when you place an order. For example, if you place an order on Tuesday and we dispatch your order on Thursday, and you have selected overnight delivery by 10h30, you should receive your package on Friday morning. Please note though, that processing your order is dependant on your payment confirmation, clearance, and availability as well as delivery from our suppliers.
How long will it take to receive your order? All orders with confirmed payment by 14h30 on weekdays should be dispatched the following business day (sometimes deliveries to us only come in late, and may only be processed the following day).
For example, if you place an order on Monday at 1pm and your order is confirmed and payment is cleared by Tuesday before 2:30pm, your order will be dispatched on Wednesday. If your order is only confirmed or paid for on Wednesday after 2:30pm, your order will only be dispatched on Friday.
We can arrange for delivery on Public Holidays or Saturdays; these services become expensive though, and are only available if requested.
Since delivery costs can often prohibit you from purchasing online due to the added costs, we welcome your opinion and feedback in this regard. We prefer to charge for the services you really use rather than substitute higher costs into all pricing to subsidise delivery charges - unfair for those who use their own courier services or collect directly from our offices!
WARRANTY AND RETURNS
All of the product's supplied through Sybaritic use well-established supplier chains in South Africa. All warranties are supplied by the manufacturer of the product through the supplier, and not by Sybaritic. Please check your warranty information from the relevant manufacturer, but the supplier has the ultimate decision on any warranties and we uphold those decisions. Please note that all media and consumables do not carry warranties and cannot be returned unless a known problem has been reported to our supplier with similar items in their batches and they are prepared to replace them.
We understand that purchasing online can be risky if anything goes wrong. If your product is defective at all, and the defect is within the specifications of the manufacturer's and suppliers warranty, please inform us about it. We can organise to collect the defective item from you; either by your arrangements or arrangements with our courier. We will then consult with the supplier on your behalf with respect to the fault, and deliver what the supplier provides us with back to you. In most cases, suppliers replace defective items immediately - if no stocks are available, we may credit you, depending on what the supplier is able to do or provide. Should the supplier detect no fault (particularly in the cases of intermittent or problems that can't be reproduced on testing), no replacements can be made.
We do not build this service into our pricing structure, so you are liable for any additional costs associated for these deliveries to and from us. At our discretion, especially for products that arrive and don't work on delivery, or become faulty within one month, we will cover all of the costs to replace. The inherent nature of components means that we understand that faults do occur that remain undetected until first used. We want your experience with us to be as positive as possible, and will strive to do what we can in these circumstances.
If you have purchased a product that is incompatible with your existing system or is functional, but does not meet your requirements, then we will only accept the product back for a credit (refunds are not given) if it is returned in re-saleable condition in the original packaging within 14 days of the purchase date. You will be liable for the delivery costs to return the item to us, and a handling fee which will be deducted from your credit. This is a 15% charge on the value of the item. An additional 15% charge will apply on goods returned without original or damaged packaging. We cannot accept returns after 14 days from the date of purchase.
To summarise, if the product is faulty, we will do everything that we can to fix the problem on your behalf. If you made a mistake, we'll still do our best to make you happy, although we will understandably penalise you. We do everything that we can to make sure you have all the information you need when purchasing a product from us. If you are unsure about compatibility, PLEASE ASK! If we notice a discrepancy in your order, we will check with you before processing the order - but obviously cannot guarantee any compatibility if we are not building the system for you.
